M/Y Elandess 2 Superyacht Anchored off the Sunshine Coast - a Sneak Peek inside!

From the Sunshine Coast Daily:

SHE cruised into Mooloolaba Harbour on Saturday and attracted plenty of attention from onlookers as she dropped anchor in full view of awestruck beachgoers. Too big to dock at either of the Mooloolaba marinas, the 47m luxury super yacht Elandess spent the weekend in the channel before cruising off to Moreton Bay yesterday morning. While the Mooloolaba Water Police, Coast Guard and workers at the marinas were all captivated by the majestic vessel, the identity of the owners and why they had chosen to visit remains a mystery. Elandess was launched in the Hessen Shipyard in the Netherlands and has a registered home port of Germany, but flies a Cayman Islands flag. Commissioned in 2006, Elandess took two years to custom build and was sold for almost $40 million in 2009. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure boasts vertical bridge windows and bridge roof extension and a maximum speed of 15.5 knots when powered by the two diesel engines. The mega yacht boasts niche cabinets in the salon and the sky lounge and a huge variation of different veneers and fabrics. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated in the four state rooms.
World-class entertainment options include satellite TV with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and ensuite bathrooms. Elandess also houses a host of watersports toys ranging from the humble snorkel gear to a 6.5m Pascoe tender and Yamaha wave runners with water skis and towable toys. Of course, a vessel such as this would require living quarters for staff and as many as 14 can be on board at any time.
